Nov. 14, 2023 — Meet the Press with Kristen Welker (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday public affairs show across the board this past Sunday, Nov. 12, according to data from Nielsen Media Research.
On digital, MTP reached 4.7 million views across platforms last week, posting a nearly 50% increase over the week prior. Viewers watched nearly 400,000 hours worth of content across MTP channels last week.
#1 Across the Board This Past Sunday
MTP ranked #1 this past Sunday among total viewers, averaging 2.415 million viewers and suprassing ABC’s This Week by +177,000 (+8%) and CBS’s Face the Nation, which continues to rate for just 30 minutes of its hour-long program, by +11,000 (+0.5%).
Among viewers aged 25-54, MTP also topped the competition, posting 457,000 viewers in the demo most valued by news advertisers and beating ABC by +38,000 (+9%) and CBS by +98,000 (+27%).
Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), and Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. MTP was the only Sunday public affairs program to increase its audiences across the board vs. the prior week. MTP now ranks #1 season-to-date in the A25-54 demo.
An additional 294,000 viewers and 104,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC.
Continued Strength on Digital Platforms
An additional 193,000 viewers watched Sunday’s full broadcast on YouTube, and MTP reached 4.7 million video views across all platforms last week. The franchise had its best week ever on Instagram, where content racked up over half a million views. Viewers across the web watched 398,000 hours of MTP content last week.
#1 in the Nation’s Capital for 8 Years Straight
MTP ranked #1 across the board in the influential Washington, D.C. market this past Sunday. It beat the competition combined in the A25-54 demo and has not lost a Sunday in the D.C. market in over eight years.
