JANUARY 9, 2018 – “Meet the Press with Chuck Todd” (MTP) was the most-watched Sunday show across the board this past Sunday, January 7, according to Nielsen Media Research data, marking its 4th consecutive broadcast at #1.

Sunday’s broadcast featured exclusive interviews with Michael Wolff, author of “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” who said that the “25th Amendment is a concept that is alive every day in the White House,” and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).

4.276 million total viewers tuned into MTP, topping both ABC and CBS by double-digits: +24 percent (+834,000) more than ABC’s “This Week” and +16 percent (+593,000) more than CBS’ “Face the Nation,” which only rates for the first 30 minutes of its hour-long broadcast. This was MTP’s biggest total viewer audience in 46 weeks (since 1/29/2017) and its 39th straight win over ABC. Week over week, MTP grew the most in total viewers (+21 percent, +751,000) and increased its advantage over ABC and CBS by double and triple-digit percentages, respectively. MTP was the only Sunday program to post year-over-year growth in total viewers (+five percent, +205,000). Compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP increased its advantage over ABC by +1.067 million viewers and over CBS by +464,000 viewers.

MTP also won in the demo most valued by news advertisers for the 5th straight broadcast, topping both ABC and CBS by double-digits. This was MTP’s biggest demo audience in 36 weeks (since 4/9/2017). MTP was the only Sunday show to deliver more than one million A25-54 viewers; 1.158 million demo viewers tuned into the Sunday program: +18 percent (+175,000) more than ABC and +60 percent (+432,000) more than CBS. Week over week, MTP grew the most in A25-54 viewers (+20 percent, +191,000) and increased its advantage over its competition by double-digits: over ABC by +63 percent (+68,000) and over CBS by +147 percent (+257,000). Compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP increased its advantage over CBS by +78 percent (+190,000).

Season-to-date, MTP continues as the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the key demo, beating competition by double-digits: ABC by +14 percent (+117,000) and CBS by +21 percent (+168,000).

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, outperforming its competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers since March, 2015. MTP has the best total viewership in the influential Washington, D.C. market since November 2008.

An additional 1.090 million total viewers and 279,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.
