“NBC News Daily” Wins Across-the-Board Monday of Iowa Caucuses, Marks Second Highest Total Viewership on Record

Jan. 23, 2024 — NBC News Daily is the #1 afternoon news program on all of television last week with 303,000 A25-54 viewers, according to data from Nielsen Media Research. 

This marks NBC News Daily’s 15th key demo weekly win over ABC’s GMA3 in the last 16 weeks, most recently by +47,000 (+18%).

NBC News Daily wins across-the-board on Monday of the Iowa caucuses. For the week, NBC News Daily marks its second highest total viewer delivery on record, averaging 1.439 million total viewers and increasing viewership by +119,000 (+9%) vs. last week. The broadcast is the only one to increase total viewers vs. same week last season, up +195,000 and narrowing its gap vs. GMA3 by +63%.

Season-to-date, NBC News Daily is the #1 afternoon news program on all of television, including broadcast and cable. NBC News Daily cuts the total viewer gap with GMA3 in half vs. the same point last season.

NBC News Daily reaches even more viewers on its NBC News NOW streaming platform. Morgan Radford and Vicky Nguyen anchor the 12-2 p.m. ET hours, with Kate Snow and Zinhle Essamuah anchoring the 2-4 p.m. ET hours.

NBC NEWS DAILY ranks #1 over GMA3 in A25-54 and A18-49 viewers for the third week in a row.

• NBC NEWS DAILY averages 303,000 A25-54 viewers, beating GMA3 by +47,000 (+18%).
• This is NBC NEWS DAILY’s 15th A25-54 demo win over GMA3 in the last 16 weeks. 
• Versus the prior year, NBC NEWS DAILY is the only program up, turning its A25-54 viewership gap into an advantage vs. GMA3 (+47,000 vs. -30,000 prior year).

NBC NEWS DAILY posts its second highest total viewer delivery on record, averaging 1.439 million total viewers.
