Reaches More Than 8 Million Video Views Across Digital Platforms for August

August 31, 2021 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the key demo for the month of August, according to Nielsen Media Research.

#1 in Key Demo for the Month of August; Tops Competition by Double-Digits

MTP continues to dominate in the demo most valued by news advertisers, winning the month among A25-54 viewers for 22 out of the last 24 months and topping the competition by double-digits. 

MTP averaged 676,000 A25-54 viewers in August: +20 percent (+113,000) more than ABC’s This Week and +25 percent (+136,000) more than CBS’s Face the Nation

This marks MTP’s best monthly A25-54 delivery and advantage over ABC in seven months (since January 2021) and its widest demo advantage over CBS in 13 months (since July 2020).

Compared to last August, MTP improved its demo advantages over the competition, nearly doubling its lead over ABC (+113,000 vs. +59,000 prior year) and increasing its advantage over CBS by +35 percent (+136,000 vs. +101,000 prior year).  

MTP averaged 2.810 million total viewers in August, topping ABC by six percent (+158,000). Season-to-date, MTP remains #1 in the key demo for six straight years.

Sunday’s broadcast averaged 2.726 million total viewers and 597,000 A25-54 viewers, and featured an interview with Secretary of State Antony Blinken, former National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster, and Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Reaches More Than 8 Million Video Views Across Digital for August

For the month of August, MTP delivered more than 8 million video views across digital platforms, its strongest month since May 2021. On YouTube, the average MTP full episode reached more than 1.2 million views and 905,000 viewers, marking the highest viewership since Spring 2021. The average full episode reached twice as many video views as the prior month.

Last week, MTP reached more than 2.4 million video views across digital platforms. This past Sunday’s full episode has currently reached more than 448,000 views and 359,000 viewers. And, the full episode that aired last Sunday, August 22 delivered 1.3 million views on YouTube and 999,000 viewers, becoming the highest performing MTP episode on YouTube since March 2021.

77 Months as #1 Most Watched Sunday Show in Washington, D.C. 

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, winning in total viewers for 77 straight months.
