Tops Competition by Double Digits in Key Demo

Best Total Viewer Delivery in Over 4 Months; Best A25-54 Viewer Delivery in 6 Months

Only Sunday Show to Grow Year Over Year in Key Demo

August 10, 2021 – After three weeks away for NBC’s special coverage of the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) returns to the top spot as the most-watched Sunday show across the board this past Sunday, August 8, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and Randi Weingarten, President of American Federation of Teachers. Note: CBS Face The Nation and ABC This Week were both retitled this past Sunday.

MTP averaged 3.053 million total viewers: +22 percent (+548,000) more than ABC’s This Week and nine percent (+241,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation. This marks MTP’s best total viewer delivery in over four months (since March 14, 2021) and its best advantage over ABC in seven months (since January 10, 2021) and over CBS in over five months (since February 14, 2021).

MTP topped both ABC and CBS by double-digits in the demo most valued by news advertisers and averaged 817,000 A25-54 viewers: +87 percent (+381,000) more than ABC’s This Week and +67 percent (+327,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation. This marks MTP’s best A25-54 viewer delivery in six months (since February 7, 2021) and its best advantage over ABC in over three years (since February 18, 2018) and over CBS in over two years (since January 27, 2019). Compared to last year, MTP was the only Sunday show to grow and was up +18 percent (+123,000). 

Season-to-date, MTP remains #1 in the key demo for six straight years.

Reaches More Than 425,000 Video Views Across Digital

MTP reached more than 425,000 video views across digital platforms. This past Sunday’s full episode has currently reached more than 597,000 views, up +20 percent year over year, and 478,000 viewers, up +17 percent year over year. 

76 Months as #1 Most Watched Sunday Show in Washington, D.C. 

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, more than doubling the competition among both A25-54 and total viewers, and winning in total viewers for 76 straight months.
