#1 Across the Board for Fifth Straight Sweep Period; 14th Straight Sweep in Key Demo – Best Streak in Over Nine Years

Wins Sunday Across the Board; #1 in Key Demo for 56th Straight Broadcast – Best Streak in Over 18 Years

FEBRUARY 26, 2019 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board for the February sweep, winning its fifth straight sweep, according to Nielsen Media Research, the show’s best streak in nearly seven years. This marks the third consecutive year MTP has won the February sweep among total viewers and fourth consecutive year MTP has won the February sweep among A25-54 demo viewers.

An average of 3.663 million total viewers tuned into the broadcast during the February sweep: +623,000 (+20 percent) more than ABC’s This Week and +211,000 (six percent) more than CBS’ Face the Nation. An average of 913,000 A25-54 demo viewers tuned into MTP during the February sweep: +188,000 (+26 percent) more than ABC and +146,000 (+19 percent) more than CBS. February marks MTP’s 14th consecutive sweep win in the demo most valued by news advertisers – the show’s best streak in over nine years.

MTP was also the most-watched Sunday show across the board this past Sunday, February 24, marking the show’s third straight week at #1 and its 13th win over CBS out of the last 14 broadcasts. Sunday’s broadcast featured exclusive joint interviews with Rep. Jim Himes and Gov. Asa Hutchinson, former Acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal and former Deputy Independent Counsel Solomon Wisenberg, and an interview with former Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson.

3.530 million total viewers tuned in to the Sunday program: +19 percent (+558,000) more than ABC’s This Week and four percent (+137,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation. This marks the broadcast’s 36th straight win over ABC in total viewers and the 13th win over CBS out of the last 14 broadcasts. Compared to last year, MTP increased its total viewer lead over ABC by +24 percent (+110,000).

MTP also won in the demo most valued by news advertisers for its 56th straight broadcast. 807,000 A25-54 demo viewers tuned into the Sunday program: eight percent (+57,000) more than ABC and +14 percent (+96,000) more than CBS. This is the broadcast’s best streak in over 18 years (since October 15, 2000).

Season-to-date, MTP is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board, delivering its best total viewer lead over ABC in seven years and CBS in eight years.

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, outperforming its competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers in almost four straight years (since March 22, 2015).

An additional 1.016 total viewers and 180,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.
