#1 for 12th Consecutive Month in Key Demo and Total Viewers, Best Streak in Over Seven Years 

Beats Competitions by Double Digits This Past Sunday, 43rd Consecutive Week to Win in Demo

NOVEMBER 28, 2018 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board in November and also this past Sunday, according to Nielsen Media Research data, winning its 12th consecutive month in the key demo and total viewers.

An average of 3.343 million total viewers tuned into the broadcast in November, leading ABC’s This Week by +527,000 (+19 percent) and +211,000 (+seven percent) ahead of CBS’ Face the Nation. This marks the 12th consecutive month MTP ranked #1 in total viewers, its best streak in more than six years. Compared to November 2017, MTP increased its lead over ABC by +109 percent (+277,000) and turned its loss to CBS into a win (+211,000 vs. -219,000 last year). The program posted its highest November advantage over ABC in seven years and CBS in eight years. Compared to the same month last year, MTP was the only Sunday show to grow in total viewers and was up by three percent (+108,000), posting its highest November total viewer delivery in two years (since Nov 2016). Compared to last month, MTP grew by five percent (+168,000) in total viewers and increased its lead over ABC by +22 percent (+96,000) and CBS by +94 percent (+104,000).

MTP averaged 841,000 viewers in the key 25-54 demo, leading competition by double-digits: ABC by +184,000 (+28 percent) and CBS by +128,000 (+18 percent). This is the 14th consecutive month, MTP ranked #1 in viewers 25-54. The program outperformed ABC among A25-54 viewers for the 14th straight month and CBS for the 34th. Year over year, MTP increased its lead over ABC by 8.5X (+184,000 vs. +22,000 last year) and CBS by +26 percent (+26,000), posting its best November leads over ABC and CBS in two years (since November 2016).

MTP was also the most-watched Sunday show both in the key demo and total viewers this past Sunday, November 25, marking the show’s 43rd straight win in the demo most valued by news advertisers. Sunday’s broadcast featured three exclusive interviews with Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), and businessman Tom Steyer.

The program had 3.417 million total viewers on Sunday leading both ABC and CBS by double-digits: ABC by +14 percent (+419,000) and CBS by +10 percent (+310,000), marking the 25th straight broadcast MTP has topped ABC. The program was up +6 percent (+185,000) compared to the previous week, hitting a five week high in total viewership (since October 21, 2018). Compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP increased its lead over ABC by +37 percent (+112,000) and turned its loss to CBS into a win (+310,000 vs. -4,000 last year).

827,000 25-54 viewers tuned into the Sunday program, also leading ABC and CBS by double-digits: ABC by +23 percent (+152,000) and CBS by +18 percent (+126,000). This is the 43rd consecutive week the program has ranked #1 among the key demo, its longest winning streak in over 18 years (since Oct. 15, 2000). Compared to last week, MTP grew by four percent (+32,000) and increased its lead over CBS by 4.5X (+126,000 vs. +28,000 last week). Compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP improved its lead over ABC by  nearly 5X (+152,000 vs. +31,000 last year).

Season-to-date, MTP is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board, delivering its best total viewer lead over ABC in seven seasons (since 2011-12) and CBS in eight seasons ( since 2010-11).

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, outperforming its competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers for more than three straight years (since March 22, 2015).

An additional 1.225 million total viewers and 356,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.
