TODAY’s Demo Wins Over GMA Have Reached 5-Year Highs, Season to Date

NEW YORK – July 28, 2017 – NBC News’ TODAY was the number-one morning show for the July 2017 Sweep winning the key demo A25-54.  The win marks TODAY’s ninth consecutive sweep victory in the key demo.  TODAY has also won 82 straight weeks in the demo (98 of the last 99 weeks), its best streak in more than four years. Additionally, TODAY’s A25-54 and A18-49 wins over GMA have reached five-year highs season to date.

• TODAY averaged 1.263 million A25-54 viewers, leading GMA by +97,000 (+8%) and CBS This Morning by +458,000 (+57%)

A18-49: TODAY won its 11th consecutive sweep and 94th of the last 97 sweeps

• TODAY averaged 920,000 A18-49 viewers, topping GMA by +107,000 (+13%) and CBS by +348,000 (+61%)

P2+: TODAY averaged 3.614 million total viewers, +402,000 (+13%) ahead of CBS. 

Season-to-date:

TODAY ranks #1 among A25-54 viewers and A18-49 viewers

• TODAY’s A25-54 and A18-49 leads over GMA have reached five-year highs
• TODAY has increased its A25-54 advantage over GMA by 26% vs. last season while its A18-49 lead over GMA has improved by 5%

TODAY’s total viewer gap vs. GMA has been reduced by 12% (-192,000 vs. -219,000 last season)
