Clinton Holds 15-Point Advantage over Sanders, 55 Percent to 40 Percent

Clinton, Sanders Lead Trump in Hypothetical General Election Matchups

APRIL 24, 2016 – Ahead of Tuesday’s Pennsylvania primary, Donald Trump and former Sec. Hillary Clinton hold double-digit leads in the state, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll.

With 45 percent support from likely Republican primary voters in the state, Trump leads Texas Sen. Ted Cruz by 18 points and Ohio Gov. John Kasich by 21 points, respectively. 

On the Democratic side, Clinton leads Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) by 15 points among likely Democratic primary voters, 55 percent to 40 percent. 

In hypothetical general election matchups in the state, Clinton leads Trump by 15 points among registered voters, 54 percent to 39 percent, and Cruz by 11 points, 52 percent to 41 percent. However, Kasich tops Clinton, 48 percent to 45 percent.  

Meanwhile, Sanders leads Trump by 20 points (57 percent to 37 percent), Cruz by 22 points (58 percent to 36 percent) and Kasich by six points (50 percent to 44 percent).
