MARCH 31, 2016 – “Meet the Press with Chuck Todd” (MTP) won the first quarter of 2016 in the key A25-54 demo, delivering 1.144 million viewers and marking the show’s first quarter win in the demo since the last presidential cycle.

MTP is leading the competition in the demo season-to-date, posting +49,000 viewers ahead of CBS’ “Face the Nation” half-hour and +142,000 viewers ahead of ABC’s “This Week” this quarter.

The win is the broadcast’s best performance in the demo in seven years (1Q’09) and demonstrative of MTP’s strong momentum. The broadcast, now #1, ranked third against its network competitors in Q1’15, growing +32 percent: +22 percentage points more than ABC and +14 percentage points more than CBS.

With a +27 percent gain compared to the same quarter last year, MTP also outgrew its network competitors in total viewers: eight percentage points more than ABC and +12 percentage points more than CBS.

In total viewers, MTP has more than tripled its gap against ABC, topping the network for three consecutive – and four out of the last five – quarters. Compared to Q1’15, MTP has cut the gap by 59 percent in total viewers with CBS, which only rates for the first thirty minutes of its “hour-long” program.

To note, MTP was rated for an average of 46 minutes each Sunday this quarter, while both the “hour-long” broadcasts of CBS and ABC rated for 30 minutes and about 36 minutes on average respectively.

MTP was the #1 most-watched Sunday show across-the-board this past Easter Sunday, delivering 3.754 million total viewers and 1.131 million viewers in the key A25-54 demo. The show also continued its dominance in the influential Washington, D.C. market, outperforming its network competition by triple-digits across-the-board. Note: all shows were retitled this past Sunday.
