“NBC NIGHTLY NEWS” IS #1 IN TOTAL VIEWERS

MAY 5, 2015 — “NBC Nightly News” was America’s most-watched evening newscast for the week of April 27 – May 1, 2015, according to Nielsen Media Research data.  This marks Nightly’s first total viewer win since the week of March 23.

Lester Holt anchored from Baltimore on both Tuesday and Friday as the city reacted to the death of Freddie Gray.

Season-to-date, Nightly is the #1 evening news broadcast in total viewers and all key demographics.

Weekly Highlights:

  • Nightly averaged 7.726 million total viewers, +39,000 (+1%) more than ABC World News Tonight and +1.150 million (+17%) ahead of CBS Evening News.
  • Nightly averaged 1.726 million A25-54 viewers, leading CBS by +21% (+296,000).
  • Nightly delivered a 1.4 A25-54 rating, +2 tenths more than CBS.

Season-to-Date Highlights:

  • Nightly is averaging 9.072 million total viewers, +420,000 more than ABC and +1.803 million more than CBS.
  • Nightly is averaging 2.153 million A25-54 viewers, +5,000 more than ABC and +432,000 more than CBS.
  • Nightly is averaging 1.545 million A18-49 viewers, +98,000 more than ABC and +387,000 more than CBS.
