“Countdown to the Globes” features interviews with Benedict Cumberbatch, Patricia Arquette, John Legend, Ricky Gervais, Michael Keaton, Uzo Aduba and More

NEW YORK – January 8, 2015 – In anticipation of the 72nd annual Golden Globe Awards, Meredith Vieira will host a star-studded primetime special “Countdown to the Globes,” featuring interviews with some of Hollywood’s hottest stars and 2014 Golden Globe nominees including Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Keaton, Patricia Arquette, Uzo Aduba, Kevin Spacey, John Legend, Ricky Gervais, and many more. “Countdown to the Globes,” an NBC News production, airs this Friday, January 9 at 10pm/9c.

Golden Globe nominee Benedict Cumberbatch sits down with Cynthia McFadden to discuss his role as British mathematician Alan Turing in “The Imitation Game.” Cumberbatch is nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama and “The Imitation Game” is nominated for Best Motion Picture, Drama.

Patricia Arquette talks to Maria Menounos about her nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her performance in the indie film favorite, “Boyhood.” Nominated for Best Original Song, John Legend and Common sing their ballad “Glory,” which is featured in the Golden Globe nominated Martin Luther King biopic, “Selma.”

Golden Globe nominee Michael Keaton talks to Tom Brokaw about his starring role in “Birdman.” Keaton is nominated in the Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy category.

Kevin Spacey sits down with Cynthia McFadden to discuss his Best Actor nomination for the hit Netflix series, “House of Cards.” Emmy winner and Golden Globe nominee Uzo Aduba, nominated for Best Supporting Actress in the Netflix series, “Orange is the New Black” talks to Tamron Hall about her role as the misunderstood inmate known to fans as Crazy Eyes.
