NEW YORK – November 13, 2014 – NBC’s TODAY continues to gain momentum and post significant ratings growth. TODAY was the number-one morning show in the key demo A25-54 on Wednesday, November 5, the morning following election night coverage, once again proving more key viewers turn to TODAY when news breaks.

For the third straight week, TODAY closed the total viewer gap with GMA by double digits versus the same week last year (by 19%), and versus the season average (by 15%). TODAY also cut the A25-54 gap with GMA versus the season average (by a whopping 24%). Week-to-week, TODAY increased its total viewer delivery by +5% (+216k).

TODAY posted the largest gains among the morning news shows versus 4Q’14 and season-to-date levels in total viewers (+399k), A25-54 viewers (+73k), and A18-49 viewers (+44k).  Year-to-date, TODAY places first in all 18-49 demo ratings.

TODAY HIGHLIGHTS:

  • TODAY averaged 5.009 million total viewers, +47% (+1.601 million) ahead of CBS This Morning
  • TODAY closed the total viewer gap with GMA by 19% versus the same week last season
  • Following Election Night coverage, TODAY finished #1 on Wednesday morning among W/A18-49 viewers and W/A25-54 viewers
  • TODAY averaged 1.872 million A25-54 viewers, leading CBS by +96% (+915,000)
  • TODAY’s 1.6 A25-54 rating doubled the delivery of CBS (+100%, or +8 tenths) for the second week in a row
  • Week-to-week, TODAY increased its total viewer delivery by +5% (+216,000)
  • Compared to the 4Q’14/STD average, TODAY reduced GMA’s leads in both total viewers (by 15%) and A25-54 viewers (by 24%)
  • TODAY also posted the biggest morning news gains versus 4Q’14/STD levels in total viewers (+9%, or +399,000), A18-49 viewers (+3%, or +44,000), and A25-54 viewers (+4%, or +73,000)
  • TODAY is #1 among A18-49 viewers in calendar 2014
