Roker Will Attempt To Break The Guinness World Record For the Longest Uninterrupted Live Weather Report Broadcast

Rokerthon Event Begins Livestreaming 10 p.m. Wednesday, November 12 on TODAY.com and Ends 8 a.m. Friday, November 14 Live on NBC’s TODAY

NEW YORK – November 6, 2014 – Ready, set, Rokerthon! Next week on NBC’s TODAY, Al Roker will attempt to make history and break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Uninterrupted Live Weather Report Broadcast. During the special Rokerthon event, Al will challenge the current record of 24 hours with a goal of 34 hours of continuous weather coverage, live from Studio 1A’s green room window.

Rokerthon kicks off Wednesday, November 12 at 10 p.m. ET, livestreaming on TODAY.com and culminates Friday, November 14 at 8 a.m. ET, live on TODAY. Throughout Wednesday night and all day Thursday, Al’s weather reports will air across additional NBC platforms including NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, NBC’s local affiliate newscasts, and other programming. The Rokerthon event will support Al’s Shine a Light TODAY initiative for the armed forces and the USO via crowdrise.com/roker.
