NEW YORK – October 30, 2014 – NBC’s TODAY continues to gain momentum and post significant ratings growth.  TODAY closed the total viewer gap with GMA for the fourth straight week and narrowed ABC’s lead by double digits week to week (by 19%), versus the same week last year (by 33%), and versus the season average (by 29%).

TODAY was the only morning news program to post total viewer gains versus both its 4Q’14 and season-to-date averages.  Season-to-date, TODAY places first in all 18-49 demo ratings.

TODAY HIGHLIGHTS:

  • TODAY reduced the total viewer gap with GMA for the 4th consecutive week.  Versus the prior week, TODAY cut GMA’s lead by 19%
  • TODAY averaged 4.612 million total viewers, leading CBS by +50% (+1.533 million)
  • TODAY averaged 1.764 million A25-54 viewers, beating CBS by +74% (+752,000)
  • TODAY’s 1.5 A25-54 rating led CBS by +88% (+7 tenths)
  • TODAY placed first for the week in all 18-49 demo ratings
  • TODAY cut GMA’s total viewer lead by 33% versus the same week last season and by 29% from 4Q’14/STD levels
  • TODAY was the only morning news program to post a total viewer gain versus its 4Q’14/STD average
  • Season-to-date, TODAY places first in all 18-49 demo ratings
