#PinkPower All Next Week On NBC’s ‘TODAY’

Special Week-Long Series in Support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month Joan Lunden Will Serve as TODAY’s Special Correspondent for #PinkPower Week

NEW YORK – September 24, 2014 – All next week, NBC’s TODAY will help kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month with #PinkPower, a special series highlighting stories of bravery and survival. Joan Lunden, a breast cancer survivor, announced this morning on TODAY that she will serve as Special Correspondent for the #PinkPower series: http://www.today.com/health/joan-lunden-appears-people-magazine-cover-bald-beautiful-2D80171362 .

Throughout the week, Lunden will talk candidly about her emotional journey with breast cancer and share inspirational stories from other courageous survivors. On Wednesday, October 1, the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Joan will encourage women with breast cancer to take off their wigs on TODAY’s plaza.

As part of #PinkPower, TODAY’s Orange Room and plaza will go pink in support of the cause.
