Ranks as #1 Afternoon News Program on All of TV Season-to-Date

May 21, 2024 — NBC News Daily is the #1 afternoon news program on all of television in the key demo last week during its timeslot, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Winning the key demo for another consecutive week, NBC News Daily averages 216,000 A25-54 viewers. Leading GMA3 by +6,000 (+3%), NBC News Daily is the only program up versus the prior year. The broadcast is also #1 in the A18-49 demo, ahead of GMA3 by +1,000 (+1%). 

Averaging 1.07 million total viewers, NBC News Daily is the only broadcast to increase total viewers versus the same week last season, narrowing its gap with GMA3 by 57%.

Season-to-date, NBC News Daily is the #1 afternoon news program on all of TV in the key A25-54 demo, ahead of GMA3. NBC News Daily also leads all CNN and Fox News hours in both the key demo and total viewers during the 12-4 p.m. daypart.

NBC News Daily reaches even more viewers on its NBC News NOW streaming platform. Kate Snow, Morgan Radford, Vicky Nguyen and Zinhle Essamuah anchor from 12-4 p.m. ET on NBC News NOW, and depending on location, U.S. markets receive one of the four hours on their local NBC broadcast stations.
