NBC NEWS TO BROADCAST SPECIAL LIVE COVERAGE OF THE CORONATION OF KING CHARLES III

Savannah Guthrie Will Anchor “NBC News Special: The Coronation of King Charles III” Saturday, May 6 at 5 a.m. ET

Guthrie Will Also Anchor TODAY Live From London Friday, May 5 at 7 a.m. ET

NEW YORK – April 24, 2023 – Savannah Guthrie will anchor special coverage of the coronation of King Charles III Saturday, May 6, live from Buckingham Palace in London. Coverage will begin at 5 a.m. ET. Guthrie will also co-anchor a special edition of TODAY live from London Friday, May 5, with Hoda Kotb live from Studio 1A in New York City.

Guthrie will be joined by NBC News correspondents from the US and UK, including: Kristen Welker, Keir Simmons, Kelly Cobiella, Molly Hunter and Meagan Fitzgerald, as well as contributors Wilfred Frost, Daisy McAndrew, Katie Nicholl and Simon Lewis. 

TODAY.com and NBCNews.com will live stream the network’s special coverage, along with NBC News NOW and TODAY All Day.

TODAY All Day will stream a coronation preview marathon Friday, May 5 starting at 9 p.m. ET, featuring episodes of The Royal RundownIncredible World and more.

NBC News NOW will stream a 30-minute special all about the Coronation and King Charles hosted by Savannah Guthrie Thursday, April 27 at 10:30 p.m. ET.

In order to create a more inclusive experience for blind and visually impaired viewers, NBCUniversal will present the full NBC broadcast with live audio description on the Secondary Audio Program channel (SAP), provided by Descriptive Video Works. The broadcast will be available with additional audio narration, describing the visuals of the coronation.
