Primetime Special Examines Historic Turmoil in the Tech Industry and the Latest Developments at Twitter and FTX

November 17, 2022 – NBC News NOW will present Hellscape: Inside the Meltdowns at Twitter and FTX, a 30-minute primetime special hosted by NBC News correspondent Jacob Ward, examining the historic turmoil in the tech industry, including Twitter and FTX. The special airs on Thursday, November 17 at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Jacob Ward reports from San Francisco for Hellscape: Inside the Meltdowns at Twitter and FTX, examining the platforms as they’ve entered an unprecedented period of time. The special will feature reporter roundtables for a discussion on the collapse of FTX, as well as what insider sources are saying about Twitter and what Elon Musk’s next move could be amid layoffs, resignations and concerns about security and misinformation.

During the special, Ward will be joined by NBC News technology reporter Ben Collins, NBC News senior business analyst Stephanie Ruhle, CNBC technology reporter Kate Rooney, The New York Times technology reporter Ryan Mac, The Verge senior reporter Elizabeth Lopatto and Platformer managing editor Zoe Schiffer.

The special is the latest in the streaming network’s growing slate of original and special programming. Recent specials have included American Vets: Beyond the Battlefield, Meet the Press: Election Night Special, Can You Hear Us Now? Black Fathers, Pride and Backlash, The Racism Virus and more.
