Primetime Special Examines Princess Diana’s Legacy 25 Years Later

Streams Tonight on NBC News NOW at 10:30 p.m. ET

Aug. 30, 2022 – NBC News NOW will present Diana and the Modern Monarchy, a 30-minute, primetime special hosted by NBC News senior international correspondent Keir Simmons, focused on Princess Diana’s legacy in the 25 years following her death. The special airs tonight, Aug. 30 at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Throughout the special, Simmons will explore how Princess Diana’s sons Prince William and Prince Harry are carrying on her legacy following her tragic passing, and how her influence continues to shape the British Monarchy to this day. 

“The ways in which Diana changed the monarchy are still felt,” says Simmons in the special. “The people’s princess made the divine rights of kings and queens feel remarkably down-to-earth.”

The special is the latest in the streaming network’s growing slate of original and special programming. Recent specials have included Meet the Press: Election Night Special, Pride & Backlash, The Racism Virus, NBC News Special Report: Inside Ukraine with Lester HoltCan You Hear Us NOW? and more.
