Primetime Special Examines Growing Threats to LGBTQ+ Rights

June 16, 2022 – NBC News NOW will present Pride and Backlash, a 30-minute, primetime special hosted by NBC News’ Joe Fryer, examining the growing threats to LGBTQ+ rights. The special airs on Thursday, June 16 at 10:30 p.m. ET.

During the special, Fryer speaks with members of the LGBTQ+ community about the recent, rising threats they’re encountering, the damage being done to gains they’ve previously made and how they are working to keep LGBTQ+ rights from being eroded. 

The special is the latest in the streaming network’s growing slate of original and special programming. Recent specials have included TransAmerica The Racism Virus, NBC News Special Report: Inside Ukraine with Lester Holt, Black History NOW, Can You Hear Us NOW?, Generation LatinX, and more.
