NBC NEWS NOW TO PREMIERE ORIGINAL LIMITED SERIES WITH ANDREW ROSS SORKIN

CNBC Anchor, Acclaimed Journalist and Best-Selling Author to Host & Produce Series

March 9, 2022 – Acclaimed journalist, best-selling author and CNBC anchor Andrew Ross Sorkin will host and produce a limited original series for NBC News’ flagship 24-hour streaming network, NBC News NOW, NBC News’ President Noah Oppenheim announced today. Sorkin’s streaming debut will take an intimate look at the people, trends, institutions and forces shaping our world.

With additional details to be announced in the months ahead, the series will build on NBC News NOW’s roster of live original news programming throughout the day from the most trusted and recognizable names in television news, including Lester Holt, Hallie Jackson, Tom Llamas, Chuck Todd, Kristen Welker, Joshua Johnson, and more, available for free to all viewers. The network’s lineup continues to expand following NBCU News Group Chairman Cesar Conde’s announcement last summer of a significant investment to accelerate the organization’s premium streaming programming and digital platforms.

“Andrew is one of the most respected interviewers in the nation. His renowned expertise on all-things business and policy, as well as his extraordinary talent to tell compelling stories, make him the perfect addition to NBC News NOW’s expanding slate of original journalism,” said Oppenheim. “We’re excited to showcase his distinctive insight and reporting seen every morning on CNBC to our streaming platform that represents the best of NBC News.”

Sorkin is a co-anchor of CNBC’s signature morning program, Squawk Box, as well as a financial columnist for The New York Times and the editor-at-large of DealBook, a Times news site he founded. He is also the author of the best-selling and award-winning book, Too Big to Fail: The Inside Story of How Wall Street and Washington Fought to Save the Financial System—and Themselves, which was adapted as a movie by HBO Films in 2011. Sorkin served as co-producer of the film, which was nominated for 11 Emmy awards. He is also co-creator of the Showtime drama series Billions.

NBC News NOW is the fastest-growing streaming news network in the U.S. and the most widely distributed U.S. streaming news network in the U.K. Announced earlier this week, NBC News NOW is the first U.S. streaming news network to be distributed internationally on television.

Available at no cost to viewers, NBC News NOW is ad-supported and distributed across all platforms, including as a channel on Peacock, Fubo, Pluto TV, Samsung TV Plus, The Roku Channel, Tubi, Xumo, YouTube, YouTube TV and NBC News’ apps on Roku, Fire TV and Apple TV.

Since launching in 2019, NBC News NOW has seen substantial growth, reaching record viewership in 2021 with an average of 60 million views and more than 20 million hours watched each month. Featuring more live original programming than any other news streaming network, viewers get the day’s headlines, world-class reporting and breaking news from the country’s most-trusted journalists.
