March. 8, 2022 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the key demo this past Sunday, March 6, according to Nielsen Media Research.

#1 in Key Demo; Tops Competition by Double Digits

MTP was #1 in the demo most-valued by news advertisers and topped both ABC and CBS by double digits. MTP averaged 632,000 A25-54 viewers, leading ABC’s This Week by +18 percent (+96,000) and CBS’s Face the Nation by +15 percent (+84,000), which continues to rate for only the first 30 minutes of its hour-long broadcast and follows the highly rated CBS Sunday Morning. Compared to last week, MTP reversed its A25-54 gap over ABC (+96,000 vs. -187,000 prior week) and compared to last year, MTP improved its A25-54 lead over ABC by 44 percent (+96,000 vs. +67,000 prior year).

Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, and averaged 2.835 million total viewers. Compared to last week, MTP reversed its total viewer gap over ABC (+104,000 vs. -269,000 prior week) and compared to last year, MTP improved its total viewer gap over CBS by 6 percent (-304,000 vs. -323,000 prior year).

An additional 146,000 total viewers and 44,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC.

Reaches More Than 6.9 Million Video Views Across Digital 

Last week, MTP reached more than 6.9 million video views, up +147 percent week over week and up +258 percent year over year, and reached more than 560,000 hours watched across digital platforms, up +129 percent week over week and up +47 percent year over year.

This past Sunday’s full episode has currently reached more than 825,000 video views, up six percent week over week, and reached more than 657,000 viewers, up four percent week over week. 

And, the full episode that aired last Sunday, Feb. 27 was the strongest episode since August 2021 and saw 1.3 million video views on YouTube and 1 million viewers.

83 Consecutive Months as #1 Most Watched Sunday Show in Washington, D.C. 

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, winning in total viewers for 83 consecutive months.
