NBC NEWS’ “DECISION 2020: JOE BIDEN TOWN HALL” DELIVERS MOST-WATCHED TOWN HALL OF 2020 ELECTION CYCLE

Averages Nearly 7 Million Viewers Across NBC, MSNBC and CNBC –

Tops ABC’s ‘President and the People’ and CNN’s Town Halls with Biden

PLUS: 2 Million Viewers Tune in on NBC News NOW

October 6, 2020 – NBC News’ town hall with Democratic presidential nominee and former Vice President Joe Biden from Miami last night averaged 6.7 million viewers across NBC, MSNBC and CNBC, making it the most-watched town hall during both the 2020 and 2016 election cycles, according to Nielsen Media Research. 

Moderated by NBC Nightly News’ Lester Holt, “Decision 2020: Joe Biden Town Hall” also averaged 1.4 million viewers in Adults 25-54 and 947,000 in Adults 18-49 for the televised event and saw 2 million viewers on NBC News NOW. It was also the #1 non-sports program of the night across television.

Last night’s broadcast out-delivered ABC’s town hall with President Donald Trump, “President and the People,” which averaged 3.97 million viewers, and also topped CNN’s best-rated town hall with VP Joe Biden, which garnered 3.45 million viewers.

The town hall took place at the Pérez Art Museum Miami in front of a socially-distanced audience. It was also available on Telemundo’s digital platforms.
