NEW YORK – February 17, 2017 —  In an exclusive first interview, former President George W. Bush will sit down with Matt Lauer live, in-studio on NBC News’ TODAY. President Bush will unveil his new project, “Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors,” a book and special exhibit at The Bush Center featuring his oil paintings and stories of 98 military service members. Bush will be joined in studio by four wounded warriors featured in the book. The interview will air in three parts Monday, February 27 on TODAY including a Facebook Live portion. The announcement was made this morning on TODAY: http://on.today.com/2kFzKJy

Each day leading up to the interview, TODAY.com will feature a video highlighting a wounded warrior from Bush’s book. Ten portraits from the book, excerpts read aloud by the president, and interviews with the veterans will be featured in the videos online. Following his appearance on TODAY, President Bush will also sit down with Willie Geist at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL. The interview will air Sunday, March 5 on “Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist.”
