Blake McCoy Joins NBC News

A Note from David Verdi, SVP of Newsgathering —

I’m pleased to announce that Blake McCoy is joining NBC News as a network correspondent. Blake comes to us from KARE, our station in Minneapolis, where he has worked as an anchor and reporter since 2012. He will initially be based in our Los Angeles bureau, but expect to see him working from other bureaus as well. We know Blake’s breaking news experience and passion for smart storytelling will be a great fit with our all-star team of correspondents.

At KARE, Blake has covered many high-profile stories, including the Target data breach and the priest sex-abuse scandal that rocked the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. Before moving to Minneapolis, he worked in local news in Las Vegas and Boise.

Blake graduated from The George Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science. He was raised in both Los Angeles and Las Vegas and is excited to return to the West Coast.

Please join me in welcoming Blake to NBC News.

David
