MARCH 31, 2015 — Wayne Kyle, the father of former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, opened up about his son’s life, death, and legacy in an exclusive interview with NBC News’ Lester Holt. The interview will air Thursday, April 2 on “NBC Nightly News” and Friday, April 3 on “TODAY.”

Speaking out for the first time since former Marine Eddie Ray Routh was found guilty of murdering Chris Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield, the elder Kyle discussed the fears he felt for his son both in combat and civilian life, the emotional trial — including the media’s coverage of it, and his hopes for raising awareness about issues facing veterans and military personnel.
