March 2, 2021 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board for the February sweep, according to Nielsen Media Research.

#1 Across the Board for February sweep 

This marks the fifth consecutive year MTP has won the February sweep among total viewers, and the sixth straight year MTP has won the February sweep among the demo most valued by news advertisers. 

An average of 3.651 million total viewers tuned into the broadcast during the February sweep: +10 percent (+320,000) more than ABC’s This Week and two percent (+81,000) more than CBS’s Face the Nation. Compared to last February sweep, MTP was up +17 percent (+531,000).

An average of 760,000 A25-54 demo viewers tuned into MTP during the February sweep: seven percent (+48,000) more than ABC and +15 percent (+97,000) more than CBS. Compared to last February sweep, MTP was up six percent (+46,000).

#1 Across the Board for Second Consecutive Month; #1 in Key Demo for 19 Straight Months

MTP was also the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board for the month of February. This marks MTP’s second consecutive monthly win across the board and fifth straight February win. 

This is also MTP’s 19th consecutive monthly win in the demo most valued by news advertisers and its sixth straight February demo win.

Wins Sunday in Key Demo; #1 for 7 Out of Last 9 Weeks

MTP was the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the key demo this past Sunday, Feb. 28 and averaged 664,000 A25-54 viewers: +19 percent (+105,000) more than ABC and seven percent (+45,000) more than CBS. 

MTP averaged 3.255 million total viewers: eight percent (+237,000) more than ABC. Four percent separate MTP from CBS which continues to rate for only the first 30 minutes of its hour-long broadcast and follows the highly-rated CBS Sunday Morning. 

Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases; Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Chair of the Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee; and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

An additional 248,000 total viewers and 94,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC.

Reaches 3.4 Million Video Views Across Digital

MTP reached 3.4 million video views, up 192 percent year over year, and reached 684,000 hours watched across platforms, up +632 percent year over year.

This past Sunday’s full episode has currently reached more than 462,000 views and 356,000 viewers. And, the full episode that aired on Feb. 21 saw 1.4 million views on YouTube and 1.1 million viewers.

Almost Six Years as #1 Most Watched Sunday Show in Washington, D.C. 

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, more than tripling the competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers in almost six years (since March 22, 2015).
