Only Sunday Show To Grow In Key Demo And Total Viewers Week Over Week
Wins Every Sunday Among Total Viewers In The Nation’s Capital In Almost Six Years
Jan. 6, 2021 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the most-watched Sunday show across the board this past Sunday, Jan. 3, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy & Infectious Diseases; Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), Chair of the Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee; and Stacey Abrams, founder of Fair Fight and former Georgia House Minority Leader.
MTP averaged 3.663 million total viewers, topping ABC’s This Week by +14 percent (+457,000) and CBS’s Face the Nation by four percent (+147,000). This marks MTP’s best total viewer delivery in five weeks (since Nov. 29, 2020). Compared to last week, MTP was the only Sunday show to grow in total viewers and was up +11 percent (+353,000) and compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP grew the most and was up +11 percent (+358,000).
MTP was also #1 in the demo most valued by news advertisers and averaged 719,000 A25-54 key demo viewers: +12 percent (+78,000) more than ABC and four percent (+27,000) more than CBS. Compared to last week, MTP was the only Sunday show to grow in the key demo and was up +10 percent (+63,000).
An additional 467,000 total viewers and 194,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC.
MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, more than tripling the competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers in almost six years (since March 22, 2015).
