Marks Fifth Consecutive Yearly Win in Total Viewers & A18-49, Increases Advantage Over ABC’s ‘20/20’ in Both Measurements
December 14, 2020 – Dateline NBC will close out 2020 as the #1 Friday newsmagazine, topping ABC’s 20/20 across the board in all key measurements, including total viewers, A25-54 and A18-49. Dateline marks its fifth consecutive win and increases its advantage over 20/20 in total viewers and the key primetime demo A18-49 versus the prior year.
With two weeks remaining in the year, Dateline averages 4.19 million total viewers, topping 20/20 by +364,000 (+10%). Among A18-49, Dateline notches 895,000 viewers, ahead of 20/20 by +92,000 (+11%). In the key news demo A25-54, Dateline averages 1.214 million viewers, leading 20/20 by +93,000 (+8%). This marks the fourth A25-54 win in the past five years.
