Grows In Key Demo And Total Viewers Year Over Year
Wins Every Sunday Among Total Viewers In The Nation’s Capital In Over Five Years
Dec. 8, 2020 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the most-watched Sunday show across the board this past Sunday, Dec. 6, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Dr. Deborah Birx, White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator; Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.); and Gabriel Sterling, Voting System Implementation Manager for the State of Georgia.
MTP averaged 3.580 million total viewers, topping ABC’s This Week by four percent (+124,000) and CBS’s Face The Nation by nine percent (+306,0000). This marks MTP’s best total viewer advantage over CBS in 26 weeks (since May 31, 2020). Compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was up +16 percent (+490,000).
MTP also won in the demo most valued by news advertisers. 754,000 A25-54 key demo viewers tuned into the Sunday program: one percent (+7,000) more than ABC’s This Week and +27 percent (162,000) more than CBS’s Face The Nation. This marks MTP’s best A25-54 viewer advantage over CBS in 23 weeks (since June 21, 2020). Compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was up nine percent (+62,000).
An additional 467,000 total viewers and 125,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC.
MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, more than doubling the competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers in over five years (since March 22, 2015).
