Best Total Viewer Delivery In 17 Weeks And A25-54 Viewer Delivery In 11 Weeks
October 6, 2020 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the most-watched Sunday show across the board this past Sunday, October 4, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Trump Campaign Senior Adviser Jason Miller and infectious diseases physician Dr. Nahid Bhadelia. Plus, Peter Hart, Democratic pollster at Hart Research Associates, and Nicole McCleskey, Republican pollster at Public Opinion Strategies, conducted two focus groups following the first presidential debate and joined Todd for an interview to discuss the key takeaways.
MTP averaged 3.599 million total viewers: eight percent (+261,000) more than ABC’s This Week and four percent (+132,000) more than CBS’s Face The Nation, which was retitled this past Sunday. This marks MTP best total viewer delivery in 17 weeks (since May 31, 2020). Compared to last Sunday, MTP was up +23 percent (+667,000) and compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was up +10 percent (+339,000).
MTP also won in the demo most valued by news advertisers. 748,000 A25-54 key demo viewers tuned into the Sunday program: two percent (+14,000) more than ABC’s This Week and +16 percent (105,000) more than CBS’s Face The Nation. This marks MTP best A25-54 viewer delivery in 11 weeks (since July 19, 2020). Compared to last Sunday, MTP was up +13 percent (+85,000).
An additional 332,000 total viewers and 134,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC.
Season-to-date, MTP is the most-watched Sunday show across the board.
MTP also won in the influential Washington, D.C. market, more than doubling the competition across the board. MTP has won every Sunday with total viewers in over five years (since March 22, 2015), topping the competition for more than 230 consecutive Sundays.
