June 30, 2020 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board for the second quarter of 2020 (2Q’20) and the month of June, according to Nielsen Media Research.

MTP won the second quarter of 2020 across the board, marking its 10th consecutive quarter at #1 and the third straight year MTP has won the second quarter across the board. MTP averaged 3.814 million total viewers: +19 percent (+605,000) more than ABC’s This Week and two percent (+64,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation. This is MTP’s best quarterly total viewers delivery in over three years (since 1Q’17) and best second quarter delivery in 12 years (since 2008). This also marks MTP’ best total viewers advantage over ABC in over a year (since 1Q’19). Compared to the second quarter last year, MTP was up +24 percent among total viewers.

The network broadcast also won in the key demo and topped both ABC and CBS by double-digits. 901,000 A25-54 viewers tuned into MTP, topping ABC by +25 percent (+180,000) and CBS by +18 percent (+136,000). This marks MTP’s 18th consecutive quarterly win in the key demo. This is also MTP’s best quarterly A25-54 delivery in over a year (since 1Q’19) and best second quarter delivery in three years (since 2017). This also marks MTP’s best A25-54 quarterly win over ABC in over a year (since 1Q’19). ). Compared to the second quarter last year, MTP was up +25 percent among A25-54 viewers.

JUNE 2020

MTP was also the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board for the month of June, marking its second straight month at #1 and the third straight year MTP has won June across the board. 3.288 million total viewers tuned into MTP in June: +15 percent (+419,000) more than ABC and one percent (+42,000) more than CBS. Compared to last June, MTP was up +13 percent.

MTP continues to dominate the demo most valued by news advertisers, winning its 11th consecutive month among A24-54 viewers. This also marks the fifth straight year MTP has won June in the key demo. 755,000 key demo viewers tuned in for the month of June, and MTP outperformed its competition by double-digits: +18 percent (+114,000) more than ABC and +26 percent (+154,000) more than CBS. Compared to last June, MTP was up the most and grew +13 percent among A25-54 viewers. MTP also increased its advantage over ABC and CBS by +24 percent.

SUNDAY, JUNE 28

Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.), and former National Security Advisor John Bolton. MTP was retitled this past Sunday, June 28.

MTP averaged 3.608 million total viewers: +25 percent (+720,000) more than ABC’s This Week and nine percent (+306,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation. This is MTP’s best total viewer delivery in four weeks (since May 31, 2020). Compared to last year, MTP was up +25% (+723,000) and compared to last week, MTP was up three percent (+122,000).

MTP averaged 858,000 A25-54 key demo viewers and topped ABC and CBS by double digits: +32 percent (+207,000) more than ABC and +40 percent (+244,000) more than CBS. This is MTP’s 18th consecutive week at #1 in the key demo and the show’s best A25-54 viewers delivery in four weeks (since May 31, 2020). Compared to last week, MTP was up two percent (+16,000) and compared to last year MTP was up +24 percent (+169,000).

An additional 1.002 million total viewers and 201,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.

Season-to-date, MTP is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board.

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, more than doubling the competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers in over five years (since March 22, 2015).
