Grows by Double Digits in Total Viewers and Key Demo Year Over Year

May 5, 2020 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board this past Sunday, May 3, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Regius Professor of Medicine at Oxford University Prof. Sir John Bell, Director of the Center for Health Security of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Dr. Tom Inglesby, State Health Officer at the Alabama Department of Public Health Dr. Scott Harris and Chief Medical Executive and Chief Deputy Director for Health for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Dr. Joneigh Khaldun.
MTP averaged 3.821 million total viewers: +33 percent (+940,000) more than ABC’s This Week and four percent (+164,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation. Compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was up +24 percent (+747,000) and MTP’s total viewer advantage over ABC is +65 percent higher.
MTP was also #1 in the demo most valued by news advertisers. 847,000 A25-54 key demo viewers tuned into the Sunday program: +37 percent (+227,000) more than ABC and seven percent (+56,000) more than CBS. Compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was up +21 percent (+149,000) and MTP’s key demo advantage over ABC is more than double (+142 percent).
An additional 627,000 total viewers and 134,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC.
Season-to-date, MTP is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board.
MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, beating the competition combined across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers in over five years (since March 22, 2015).
