Grows by Double Digits Across the Board Year Over Year

April 7, 2020 – This past Sunday’s special edition of Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) focusing on the coronavirus pandemic was the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the key demo, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Season-to-date, MTP is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board.

Sunday’s special edition broadcast featured interviews with U.S. Surgeon General Vice Admiral Jerome Adams, Gov. Jay Inslee (D-Wash.), Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-Ark.) and Prime Minister of Italy Giuseppe Conte.

MTP won in the demo most valued by news advertisers. 1.176 million A25-54 key demo viewers tuned into the Sunday program: +10 percent (+103,000) more than ABC’s This Week and six percent (+70,000) more than CBS’s Face the Nation. Compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was up +42 percent (+347,000). MTP was up by double digits across the board year over year.

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, more than doubling the competition among A25-54 viewers and winning every Sunday with total viewers in over five years (since March 22, 2015).

An average of 4.445 million total viewers tuned into MTP: seven percent (+278,000) more than ABC. Compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was up +32 percent (+1.074 million).

An additional 938,000 total viewers and 250,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.
