NBC NEWS WINS ACROSS THE BOARD AMONG BROADCAST NETWORKS FOR SUPER TUESDAY COVERAGE

#1 in Total Viewers and the Key A25-54 and A18-49 Demos

Beats out ABC and CBS During the 3-Hour Special Coverage

March 4, 2020 – NBC News was the #1 most-watched broadcast network across the board for primetime coverage (8-11pm ET) of Super Tuesday results, according to Nielsen Fast National Data.  Anchored by NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt and TODAY co-anchor and NBC News chief legal correspondent Savannah Guthrie, the three-hour special program topped both ABC and CBS in total viewers and the key A25-54 and A18-49 demos for the second consecutive Super Tuesday.

NBC News averaged 2.94 million total viewers, leading ABC by +221,000 (+8%) and CBS by +298,000 (+11%).  Among A25-54, NBC tallied 983,000, topping ABC by +178,000 (22%) and CBS by +343,000 (+54%).  Additionally, NBC’s 825,000 in A18-49 surpassed ABC and CBS by +229,000 (+38%) and +363,000 (+79%), respectively.

Meet the Press moderator and NBC News political director Chuck Todd and NBC News chief foreign affairs correspondent and senior Washington correspondent Andrea Mitchell also joined the special coverage of the biggest contest to date of the 2020 presidential Democratic primary race.  Additionally, NBC had more than 20 correspondents and reporters dispatched throughout the country bringing the latest on last night’s results.

NBC News Digital delivered an all-time top 10 day, reaching more than 15 million Americans across its portfolio, including NBC News, MSNBC, NBC News NOW and Stay Tuned, according to Adobe Analytics. The special Super Tuesday coverage also attracted 3.6 million people to the NBC News NOW streaming network.
