Delivers Biggest Demo Win over CBS’s “Face the Nation” Since Last Presidential Election Cycle
Marks Sixteenth Straight Broadcast Win over CBS in Key Demo
Posts Strong Double-Digit, Year-over-Year Gains Across the Board
TUESDAY, JULY 26, 2016 – “Meet the Press with Chuck Todd” (MTP), which aired a special Democratic National Convention preview edition live from Philadelphia, won the key viewer demo this past Sunday with 1.066 million viewers.
The #1 win in the A25-54 demo is the largest advantage over CBS’s “Face the Nation” in almost four years (since August 12, 2012). It also marks the sixteenth consecutive broadcast in which MTP has topped CBS and the fifteenth straight telecast topping ABC’s “This Week.” MTP beat CBS, which only rates for thirty minutes of its hour-long broadcast, by +44 percent (+326,000) and ABC by +25 percent (+211,000).
MTP’s strong growth continues, as the network broadcast was up +17 percent among total viewers (+501,000) and +29 percent (+242,000) compared to this time last year.
3.384 million total viewers tuned into MTP with an additional 1.786 million total viewers and 429,000 key demo viewers watching rebroadcasts on MSNBC.
Last week’s broadcast featured interviews with Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) ahead of this week’s Democratic National Convention.
